Town of Pincher Creek, Alberta - 2024 National Finalist

Pincher Creek is a vibrant, family orientated community that serves as the heart of Southwest Alberta.  The community is proud of its pristine nature settings, a flourishing agriculture industry a strong conventional and renewable energy sector, robust retail and commercial businesses, and community facilities – all located in a recreational paradise.  Wildlife roams freely amidst a landscape of abundant water, majestic rocky mountains, gentle rolling hills and endless prairie horizons.  Pincher Creek has a rich local history commencing with the Northwest Mounted police horse farm that has grown into a community that embraces renewable energy and a sustainable environment. 

Pincher Creek has been a Communities in Bloom participant for 24 years and it is evident through the preserving of history in murals and the extensive Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village.  Visitors can stroll through our 9 parks and 17 public gardens by our extensive trail system.  All of this is would not be possible without the strong base of volunteers.  We our community of 3600 residents and are proud of the 100+ volunteer groups that continue to work on honoring our past while building a strong future.
