Growing Great Places Together

Town of Devon, Alberta - 2024 National Finalist

Located just 20 minutes from south Edmonton and short commute from the Edmonton International Airport, the Town of Devon is a dynamic community with a rich history as a planned “Model Town.” As we approach our 75th anniversary in 2025, we are excited to celebrate our heritage and the vibrant lifestyle of our Town.

Nestled along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, Devon’s river valley is a centerpiece of natural beauty and recreational opportunity. It features a golf course, campground, bike park, and picnic sites, all connected by a multi-purpose trail developed in collaboration with the River Valley Alliance. This trail network extends into an expansive community trail system, supporting activities such as cross-country skiing and fat biking in winter, and various uses throughout the warmer months.

Our recreational facilities include a newly twinned arena, an outdoor swimming pool, a spray park, a recently developed ballpark and soccer fields. Additionally, numerous parks provide ample space for outdoor enjoyment.

Devon is a hub of community engagement, hosting a variety of annual events that bring residents together. These include Winter Walk Day, Family Day, Devon Days, Indigenous Peoples Day and other Indigenous-based events, Canada Day, Movie Night in the Park, Halloween festivities, and Christmas in the Park. Over recent years, a focus on reconciliation has enriched these gatherings with meaningful Indigenous and community engagement opportunities.

Both residents and visitors find that Devon offers a wealth of experiences that make it a unique place to live, work, and play and we look forward to continuing to share this with everyone that comes to our community.
