Become a Nutrients for Life Teacher Member today and receive a “Soil Your Undies” Exploring Soil activity for your class. Healthy soil contains billions of microorganisms.
Along with worms, these organisms play an important role in recycling nutrients into forms that plants use to grow healthy and strong. Nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) are released into the soil and taken up by plant roots.
Bury the cotton undies in nearby soil, then dig them up after the designated time. Observe soil microorganisms to assess your soil’s health.
