The Town of Millet is a small, pretty and friendly small town with many options for all residents and visitors. Flowerbeds and planters situated throughout the town provide pleasure to the residents as well as tourists enjoying the paths and recreation areas or those driving through our community. The trails throughout our community highlight the beauty of Eyot and Pipestone Creeks. The path system is designed to access all outdoor activity areas as well as allowing you to enjoy the scenic views of nature Millet has to offer.
The main street of Millet is a main highway utilized by large volumes of traffic, all of which are able to enjoy the Town Office flowers and hanging baskets, as well as the many Millet in Bloom flower planters and beds including flower displays by the businesses along this main route.
For a small community, the town has a large variety of volunteer based organizations Residents and Tourists also enjoy the award winning Millet & District Museum & Archives. The Museum honors pioneer women, veterans, hosts tours, teaches schoolchildren and partners with other groups, including Millet in Bloom.
Millet has been a proud participant of the Communities in Bloom program for the 24 years and will be celebrating 25 years in 2020, and are well recognized throughout Canada. We are also the very proud recipient of many awards with this program.
We are located on Hwy 2A ten minutes north of the City of Wetaskiwin and fifteen minutes south of the City of Leduc. Edmonton International Airport is twenty-five minutes away, and it is a short thirty-five minute drive to the City of Edmonton. We are conveniently located to all the amenities of large cities but enjoy the quiet peacefulness of a small community.
