Town of Jasper is in the heart of Jasper National Park. The park’s shimmering glaciers, abundant wildlife, crystal clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, deep canyons and evergreen forests-all surrounded by towering mountains-are some of the reasons the park was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Jasper National Park is also the 2nd largest Dark Sky Preserve in Canada.
Our strong sense of community spirit is only over-shadowed by the majestic Rockies. The privilege of living in a national park brings a great sense of pride and responsibility in preserving and enhancing our community and its surroundings. Behind the scenes of this world renowned vacation destination, lies a dedicated group of residents and volunteers who work together to support the objectives and values of the Communities in Bloom program
Jasperites support healthy, active lifestyles. Biking is immensely popular, by young and old, in our community. Skiing, hiking, paddling, and any and all methods of self-propelled exploration are great ways to enjoy our awe-inspiring surroundings. Several community groups, such as the Jasper Local Food Society, The Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee and a resident driven plastic waste reduction group named Saving Mountains of Plastic supports green and sustainable community initiatives.
We invite you to experience Jasper’s friendly and welcoming spirit, while enjoying the spectacular natural beauty of Jasper National Park.
