Brooks is proud of their heritage beginning with the laying of the CPR tracks to unite Canada.

Originally a rail siding with not much more than a hotel & a few stores we were a cow town.

Large open range cattle ranches were the only viable industry. Then came the oil & gas industry, making the town boom.

Currently our population includes 30% immigrants. Many are drawn here to work at JBS Foods then later pursue various endeavours. We are known as the City of 100 Hellos.

We encourage residents to participate by planting flowers, keeping tidy yards as well as being stewards of the environment. Initiatives include the co-operation with various youth & adult groups to spread the message.  All our projects are made possible with sponsorship & co-operation from the city, businesses & volunteers. Our board is entirely volunteer driven.
