Boissevain is a community alive with vibrancy and spirit. Locals are proud of their past and its people, and this is amply demonstrated by the town’s outdoor art gallery, floral displays, arts park, museums and celebrations. There is an abundance of recreational activities offered in the area. The Turtle Mountain Provincial Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, swimming, biking and fishing at one of the parks many lakes are popular recreation choices. In winter there are snowmobile trails, cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs and an outdoor skating rink. On the U.S. and Canadian border, in a symbol of friendship, lies a “one of a kind” International Peace Garden. Water fountains and dazzling displays of over 150,000 flowers. A few minutes to the west is Whitewater Lake, a globally significant Important Bird Area providing habitat for over 110 species of birds. Perhaps the fact that Boissevain has no traffic lights, gives a hint of just how nice shopping here can be. Boissevain is a quaint, compact town with unique boutique shopping, restaurants, and many services.
