Mosaïvernales Gatineau 2018 …Winter Magic in action

GATINEAU, JANUARY 16, 2018 – The transformation of millions of snowflakes and ice crystals into snow sculptures has begun. Over twenty master sculptors from the city of Harbin in China, have joined the team members from Mosaïvernales Gatineau 2018. Together, they will work intensely to create immense snow frescoes that will be illuminated. A unique experience, completely magical, will be awaiting visitors starting January 26thin Jacques-Cartier Park (South Side) in Gatineau.

I’ve been dreaming of this moment for many years – the chance and opportunity to work in collaboration with my long-time friends, the artists from the world’s largest ice and snow sculpture festival. Such a privilege!” shared Lise Cormier, Vice-President and Executive Director of Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal and creator of this exhibit. “My wish is to continue to amaze the world, this time in winter, by creating enormous mythical frescoes with the best sculptors of this artform.”

The Mosaïvernales Gatineau 2018 Team is extremely proud to be recognized as an official partner of Winterlude and to be contributing to the overall programming of our region’s flagship winter event by creating a spectacular exhibit on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of one of Canada’s largest winter celebrations.

Mosaïvernales Gatineau 2018, presented by Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal, is a enchanted wonderland showcasing approximately 25 illuminated snow frescoes, spectacular and gigantic, poised along a 1 km trail in Jacques-Cartier Park (South Side). Winter magic will light-up the mythological pathway where gods, goddesses and fairies will be poised in nature to unite all of mankind.

Starting at 6 p.m. on January 26th, Mosaivernales will official open in Jacques-Cartier Park (South Side). The exhibit will be open until Sunday March 4th – weather permitting.

The exhibit will be open daily – from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends (Saturday and Sunday); and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays (Monday to Friday).

The cost is $10 per person (taxes included), free for children 12 and younger.
