Gatineau, January 26, 2017 – The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Louis L. Roquet, and the General Director of Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal, Lise Cormier, in the presence of many guests from the Chinese Embassy, the governments of Canada and Quebec and the city of Gatineau, presented the work entitled “The joyous celebration of nine lions”. The mosaïculture is offered by China to celebrate, with the Canadian population, the 150th anniversary of the Confederation. “The participation of China at MOSAICANADA 150/GATINEAU 2017 is the fruit of 17 years of sustained collaboration between the city of Shanghai’s Office of landscape planning and the Moasaïcultures Internationales team in Montreal. We are very proud of it,” declared Mr. Roquet.

We are honored by the participation of Shanghai at our event which strives to be a big celebration. It is the spirit of this big celebration that the work from Shanghai, entitled “The joyous celebration of nine lions”, brilliantly illustrates. “The work created by our friends from Shanghai goes far beyond our expectations. It is breathtaking and the concept is not only pertinent to the festivities of the 150th anniversary but also fabulous. ‘The joyous celebration of nine lions’ is cheerful and magical. It’s 3 dimensional Happiness!” stated Lise Cornier.

Gatineau is proud to host this event which is the flagship of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Confederation and will take place in the Jacques-Cartier park that has been transformed into an veritable plant museum. I would like to thank the Chinese Embassy in Canada for this participation in MosaïCanada 150/Gatineau 2017. In addition to the numerous works that are already anticipated, a new Chinese work will be present, and will certainly be a major attraction for tourists who come to Gatineau for these celebrations,” assured the mayor of Gatineau, Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin. “We wish you the best for a total success of the exhibition and I can assure that the Shanghai team will do all that is possible and will put forth all the necessary efforts to complete this work which bears witness to our friendship with Canada” stated Mr. Fang, assistant director of the city of Shanghai’s Office of landscaping and cleanliness, in charge of the team which will create the work. “MosaïCanada 150/Gatineau 2017 represents a unique occasion to highlight the charm, culture and history which have provided the identity of our beautiful country. I am delighted about the participation in this exhibition of China, which will remain etched in our collective memory,” concluded the deputy of Hull at the National Assembly, Maryse Gaudreault
