2017 Gardens of Remembrance Program – Winner

January 8, 2018 (Kirkland, QC) Communities in Bloom is pleased to announce the winner of the 2017 Gardens of Remembrance Program.

The Town of Oromocto Remembrance Garden:

The Remembrance Garden is located next to the Cenotaph and the Afghanistan War memorial. In a Town that is so closely tied to CFB Gagetown it was important to continue to recognize the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives in the line of service to others. The Town of Oromocto Remembrance Garden also serves to honour the lives of those first responders that have passed.

The Town of Oromocto Remembrance Garden was initially conceptualized by a veteran who presented to the Mayor an idea to utilize the recommended flower design by the Canada Remembers program.

Scotts Canada is proud of offer a grant of $1,500 to the Town of Oromocto and Home Hardware have given gift certificates, drawn amongst all applicants.

The Gardens of Remembrance Program aims to showcase our gratitude to Veterans—those men and women who served their country in times of war, military conflict and peace, and those who have lost their lives during war and other military engagements and to recognize the sacrifices made by their families.

Thank you to all those who submitted an application.
